Plumbing fixture installation in Louisville with The Tenant Turn means replacing a fixture where it connects: a faucet, toilet, shower head, drain, disposal or shutoff valve. The price is set by the job and quoted free, usually the same day. New plumbing runs, moving pipes, water heaters and anything inside the wall are a plumber's job, and we will tell you when that is what you have.

What our faucet, toilet and plumbing fixture installation covers

  • Replacing kitchen and bathroom faucets
  • Replacing shower heads and tub spouts
  • Replacing a toilet, or its fill valve, flapper or wax ring
  • Replacing a sink drain and p-trap
  • Swapping a garbage disposal
  • Replacing supply lines and shutoff valves at the fixture
  • Re-caulking tubs, showers and sinks

How we install a faucet, toilet or other fixture

We shut off the water at the fixture, drain what is left, and take the old one out. We clean the mounting surface, set the new fixture, and connect it with new supply lines. Then we turn the water on, run it, and check every joint for drips, with a dry paper towel under each one.

A toilet gets a new wax ring and is set level and bolted down so it does not rock. A faucet gets new supply lines, because old ones are what fail next. We caulk where it needs caulk and leave the area clean.

Toilet parts and small plumbing repairs

A toilet that runs, or hisses, or needs the handle jiggled usually needs a new flapper or fill valve, a small part and a short job. A toilet that rocks or leaks at the base needs a new wax ring. A sink that drips underneath needs a new p-trap or supply line. A tub or shower with black, peeling caulk needs it cut out and redone, because that is where water gets behind the wall.

These are the jobs that cost the most when left alone, and the least when fixed early.

When it is a plumber's job

We work at the fixture. We do not run new pipe, move a sink or a toilet, change a water heater, touch a gas line, or work on the main water line or the sewer. We also do not hunt for a leak inside a wall. If a shutoff valve will not close, a pipe is corroded, or we see a stain on the ceiling below, we stop and tell you to call a plumber, and that is the right call.

What plumbing fixture installation costs in Louisville

We price it by the job. What decides it is how many fixtures there are, how old the plumbing under them is, and whether the shutoff valves still work. A faucet swap is quick. A toilet, or an old sink with corroded connections, takes longer.

You can buy the fixture or we can pick it up. The quote is free, usually the same day.

How to get a quote with a photo

Send a photo of the fixture and one of the space under it, with the shutoff valves in the picture. Tell us what you want replaced and whether you have the new one. Text it to (502) 678-9060, and we will say what to expect before we book.

Plumbing fixtures for landlords and rentals

Dripping faucets and running toilets waste water and run up the bill, and a leaking tub is the start of a damaged ceiling below. We replace fixtures and re-caulk between tenants as part of a rental turnover. If an access hole is needed behind a tub or sink, we patch it afterward, and a swollen door in a damp bathroom is the kind of thing we look at on the same visit.

Plumbing fixture installation around Louisville

We replace faucets, toilets and fixtures in older houses in Germantown and Schnitzelburg, the Highlands and Jeffersontown, and in the condos and newer homes around Hurstbourne. Our 30-day guarantee on plumbing fixture installation

Fixture work carries a 30-day guarantee, and we run the water and check every connection with you before we leave. If a joint we made leaks in that time, call us and we come back and fix it. Leaks from old pipes behind the wall, a shutoff valve we told you was failing, and fixtures that were already defective are not covered.

What faucet, toilet and plumbing fixture installation doesn't include

  • New plumbing runs, or moving pipes and fixtures to a new spot
  • Water heaters, gas lines, the main water line and sewer work
  • Finding a hidden leak inside a wall or under a slab (a plumber's job)
  • Cut-and-replace work on supply pipes inside the walls, or anything that needs a permit

Those need a specialist. We will tell you when a job is one of them and point you to someone good.

Faucet, toilet and plumbing fixture installation questions

Can a handyman install a faucet or toilet?

Yes. Replacing a faucet, toilet, shower head or drain at the fixture is routine handyman work. New pipe runs and anything inside the wall are for a plumber.

How do I replace a kitchen faucet?

Shut off the water at the valves under the sink, disconnect the supply lines, remove the old faucet, set the new one, and connect new supply lines. We do it, and check it for leaks before we leave.

Why does my toilet keep running?

Usually a worn flapper or a fill valve that does not shut off. Replacing them is a short job.

Do you replace a toilet?

Yes. We remove the old one, set the new one on a new wax ring, level it, bolt it down and check for leaks.

Can you replace a garbage disposal?

Yes, as a swap for an existing disposal that is already wired. We connect it, check the drain and test it.

Do you caulk tubs and showers?

Yes. We cut out the old caulk, clean and dry the joint, and run new caulk, so water stays out of the wall.

Can you find a leak inside a wall?

No. Hidden leaks inside walls or under floors need a plumber with the right equipment. We will tell you when that is what we see.

Do you move plumbing or add a new sink?

No. New runs and moved fixtures are for a plumber. We install the fixture once the plumbing is in place.
